Doris F. Constant

LEOMINSTER - Doris F. Constant, 93, of Leominster died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Keystone Nursing Home Leominster. She was born February 26, 1925, in Leominster, daughter of the late Josephat and Berthe (Desilets) Champagne, both from Quebec. Doris attended school in St. Samuel, Quebec. She worked for Rocheleau Tool and Die for 22 years, then worked with her husband at Omer and Sons’ Garage in Leominster. Later on she worked at American Can Company for 12 years before retiring She was a member of St Cecilia’s Church and the Ladies of St. Anne. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family the most and also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, reading, knitting and playing cards. She leaves five sons, Michael G. Constant and his wife, Eileen of East Hartford, Connecticut, Denis O. Constant and his wife, Janice of Leominster, James M. Constant and his wife, Robin of East Hartford, Connecticut, Ronald J. Constant of Leominster, Ivan F. Constant and his wife, Erika of Leominster; two daughters, Joyce A. Latuga and her husband, Paul of Sterling, Linda P. Jackson and her husband, Jerome of Clayton, North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Champagne and his wife, Georgette of Ashburnham; two sisters, Sister Pauline Champagne DHS, of Putnam, CT, and Marie Boucher of Leominster; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Omer J. Constant on May 29, 2016. She was also predeceased by her son, David G. Constant in 2013, and her grandson, Zachary Constant in 2012. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Henri Paul, Gilles, and MarcelChampagne, and two sisters, Olivette Boisvert and Gertrude Beaudoin. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 23, at 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia’s Church 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, burial will follow in Saint Cecilia’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 22, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster.
