LEOMINSTER - Doris M. (Prince) LaCross, 82, of 100 Main Street, Leominster, died Thursday morning, April 22, 2010, at the home of her sister at 56 Old Willard Road in Leominster after an illness.
She was born on July 1, 1927, in Leominster, the daughter of the late Donat Prince and Leona (Bergeron) Prince and was a lifelong Leominster resident.
She leaves her sister, Claire Tourigny and her husband, Gerard, of Leominster; and many nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of thirty-one years, Ernest LaCross, on November 14, 1984; and by her two brothers, Leo Prince of Leominster and Charles Prince of Gardner.
Mrs. LaCross was a Supervisor at the former D & D Plastic Company in Leominster and also was employed at Star Manufacturing before retiring in 1993.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster. She was an avid baseball and football fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
She enjoyed bowling, water and snow skiing, snowmobiling and later in life enjoyed taking walks. She also enjoyed traveling and had traveled across the country twice.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 from the Simard Funeral Home ,14 Walker Street, Leominster with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society 20 Speen St. Framingham MA.01701 and may be left at the funeral home.
