Dorothy A Dora

GARDNER- Dorothy A. (Hendrickson) Dora, 90, of Gardner, was surrounded by her loving family when she died peacefully in her home on Monday, June 12, 2017. Dorothy was born in Gardner on October 26, 1926. She is predeceased by her parents, Otto and Olga (Bergfors) Hendrickson of Gardner, and her brother Rurik Hendrickson, also from Gardner. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. She and Joseph H. Dora were married at the Sacred Heart Church in Gardner on August 14, 1948; and remained life partners for 68 years. She worked as an administrative assistant for a brief time before becoming a full-time homemaker, after the birth of her first child. For the next 20 years she committed her life to raising her family. She served as a boy-scout and girl-scout leader, and was active in her local parish. After raising her two children, Dorothy returned to work. She was employed by Almy'sDepartment Store, then worked for Gardner Family Practice until her retirement. In addition to her husband, Dorothy leaves a son, Daniel A. Dora, his wife, Angela, and their son Garrett,of Templeton; a daughter, Joanne Dora Marcone and her husband, Richard of Marietta, GA. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 15, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. A calling hour will be held Thursday, June 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in Lamoureux-Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home, a Mack Family Funeral Home, 105Central St., Gardner.
