Dorothy R. Eaton

ATHOL - Dorothy R. (Rockwell) Eaton, 93, of 209 Pinedale Road, Athol, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at home. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 22, 1916, the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Ruth (Chase) Rockwell. Mrs. Eaton graduated from New Salem Academy and Northampton Commercial College. She worked for the former Union Twist Drill Company and the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. many years ago. Dot served in the United States Navy during World War II as part of WAVES, Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service from 1942 to 1945. She later retired from the Union Butterfield Division of Litton Industries in 1980. She leaves her husband of 61 years, John D. Eaton of Athol; two sisters-in-law, a niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Hope Sisson. Graveside services will be held at a time and date to be announced. There are no calling hours.
