Dorothy L (Hill) Porn

Gardner- Dorothy L. Porn, 92, died Saturday March30, 2013 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home following a short illness. She was born in Gardner, on January 16, 1921, the daughter of Clifton H. and. Eva (LaPrade) Hill. Dorothy grew up in Gardner and attended Gardner High School. Dot was a homemaker for most of her life, dedicating her time to raising her three children. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and was known by her children and grandchildren to be a wonderful baker. She also enjoyed knitting and taking care of her grandchildren. Dorothy leaves behind one son; John Porn and his wife Christine of Gardner, one daughter; Florence Porn of Gardner, three grandchildren: Bennett Rolf and his wife Tara of Orange, Bradley Rolf and his companion Jenifer Tomer of Gardner, and Jennifer Porn of Gardner, Two great-grandchildren; Tyeler Rolf of Gardner and Victoria Axelson-Rolf of Orange, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, George E. Porn, who died in 2007, one son; Edward Porn who died in 1998, and six sisters. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, 161 Chestnut Street, Gardner, MA, in the Diamond Room from 1:00pm-2:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the church. Burial will immediately follow the service in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner. The family asks to note that the calling hours will be held at the church.
