Dorothy B. (Surett) Malouin

Dorothy B. Malouin Phillipston – Dorothy B. (Surett) Malouin, 83, formerly of Powers Mill Road, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare with her loving family at her side.     Dot was born in Townsend, MA, October 22, 1931, the daughter of Fred J. and Mabel F. (Snow) Surett.  She grew up in Townsend and Pepperell where she also attended school, later moving to Fitchburg and Leominster where she lived for 22 years and in 1996 moved to Phillipston.     Dot enjoyed her home and her ten children, and all types of sewing and quilting.     She leaves four sons, Michael P. Malouin and his wife Sandy of New Port Richie, FL, Bernard A. Malouin and his wife Darlene  of Phillipston, John P. Malouin of Orange, and Andrew R. Malouin and his wife Zareth of Jacksonville, FL; five daughters, Marie A. Crocker and her husband Terry of Sarasota, FL,  Doreen L. Ciccone and her husband Dennis  of Leominster, Evelyn J. O’Connor and her husband Rick of Bolton, CT, Paula A. Johnson and her husband Dan of Hickory, NC, and Patricia A. Jacobs and her husband Leslie of Vale, NC.   She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.   She was predeceased by her husband, Albert E Malouin, Sr. of  56 years who died in 2006 and a son Albert E. Malouin, Jr. in 1974.      Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol with the Rev. Stephanie Flynn, pastor of the Phillipston Congregational Church officiating.   There will be a calling hour from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Phillipston Firefighters Association, 90 State Road, Phillipston, MA  01331.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com $(document).ready(function(){ });
