Mr. McCallion was born November 5, 1942 in New York City, to Edna J. McCallion and the late Harry J. McCallion. A 1965 graduate of Georgetown University, he served in the United States Army with a military intelligence unit, including a tour of duty in South Korea.
A huge fan of early rock-n-roll, he had an extensive record collection dating back to the 1950's, and could sing practically any popular song from that era upon request in his rich baritone voice. He could regularly be seen on long walks around Gardner, MA, stopping into the shops along the way and he was a member of the Montachusett Veteran's Outreach Center and Bridge of Central Massachusetts Program.
Unfailingly kind and generous of spirit, he loved to reminisce with
his mother and other family members about his childhood and
adolescence. He was devoted to his large family and friends, and will be sorely missed.
