Earl L. "The Duke" Weymouth, 89, of Leominster, died Dec. 13, 2008, in the Lifecare Center of Leominster, after an illness.
He was born February 27, 1919, in Leominster MA, the son of the late Daniel and Lilla Weymouth and was a lifelong Leominster resident. He leaves two sons, Robert Weymouth and Earl Weymouth Jr.; four daughters, Jean Carolis, Shirley Mosso, Rosemary Robinson and Lorraine T. Cameron; one brother Fey Weymouth; many nephews and nieces; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
His beloved Wife of 61 years Alice M.(Lemieux) Weymouth died February 23, 2005.
Mr. Weymouth was a US Army Veteran of World War II he entered the service on December 26, 1944 and was honorably discharged February 5, 1946 attaining the rank of PFC. He served in the Southern Philippines. While in the Army he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Victory Medal, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star.
He worked as molder for Foster Grant Co. in Leominster for many years retiring in 1981. He also worked for Weymouth Trucking Company. He loved country music, and enjoyed fishing.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial with military honors will be private in Evergreen Cemetery Leominster.
