ATHOL - Edith Fern (Winters) Fregeau, 63 of 80 Stevens St., Athol, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Wachusett Manor, Gardner, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Athol on December 21, 1953, the daughter of the late Atwood C and the late Minnie (Vitello) Winters Jr..
She graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1971, she received her Associates Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College.
Fern worked for the L.S. Starrett Company for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, dinner with family, spending time with her siblings, cribbage, car rides, nature, music and watching her kids play sports.
She leaves her husband of 37 years, Herbert L. Fregeau Jr.; two sons, Ryan Fregeau and his wife Pamela of Omaha, Nebraska, Andrew Fregeau of Worcester; one daughter, Amanda Fregeau of Leominster; five brothers, Charles Winters and his wife Veronica of Athol, Brent Winters of Athol, Mark Winters and his wife Cynthia of Athol, Bruce Winters and his wife Susan of Athol, Atwood Winters III and his wife Bonnie of Santa Rosa, California; five sisters, Susan Leeman and her husband Joseph of Athol, Marlene Lawton and her companion Richard Hill of Athol, Corlena Plotkin of Athol, Charlene Recos and her husband Rand of Orange, Theresa Joly and her husband David of Chicopee; brother in-laws, William Fregeau and his wife Janice of Athol, Steven Fregeau of Punta Gorda, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother James Winters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Athol High School Scholarship Association, P.O. Box 338, Athol, MA 01331 or to a charity of one's choice.
