PHILLIPSTON – Edna J. Haley, Age 83, of Phillipston died January 6, 2018 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
She was born on February 13, 1934 in Gardner MA, the daughter of Charles Robinson Henshaw and Mildred Chamberlin (Brown) Henshaw.
Edna graduated from the Templeton High School. Edna was a member of the Phillipston Congregational Church, a member of the Ladies Benevolent Society and was very active in the church. Edna helped start the Phillipston Community Newsletter in 1982. Edna was Librarian at the Phillips Free Public Library for 42 years and served as an assessor in town for many years. Edna had a strong community spirit and welcomed all new residents to Phillipston. She loved the beauty of flowers and nature and especially loved seeing the cardinals at her bird feeders.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Arnold Robert Haley.
She leaves her children, Peter and his wife JoAnn, Paula, Gregory and his wife Martha, Leonard and his wife Monique, Arnold Jr. and his wife Lisa, Justin and his wife Sherrie, Timothy and his wife Sylvia, Jennifer Dieuveuil and her husband Harry; 21 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren. A sister Shirley Barnes and brothers Ralph, Roger & Kirke Henshaw
She was predeceased by her brother C. Milton Henshaw.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Phillipston Congregational Church, 60 The Common, Phillipston. Burial will be private at a later date.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. - noon. in the Lamoureux-Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
