Edna M. Turgeon

Marlborough- the Sisters of the Assumption mourn the loss of Sr. Edna Turgeon, formerly known as Sr. Rose-Therese, who passed away at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlborough, MA on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was a native of Bristol, Connecticut, the daughter of Exina (Nadeau) Turgeon and Edmond Turgeon. Sr. Edna entered the congregation of the Sisters of the Assumption on August 23, 1940. Following her profession in 1943, she served in the ministry of education in parochial elementary and high schools in MA, CT, NH, and VT for over forty years. She also served as treasurer. For the past seven years, she resided at the Marie Esther Health Center in Marlborough, MA. Sr. Edna is survived by many nieces and nephews, the Sisters of the Assumption worldwide, and the Sisters of St. Anne and Staff in Marlborough, MA. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:15AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in the chapel of the Sisters of St. Anne, 720 Boston Post Road in Marlborough, MA. Sr. Edna will be laid to rest in the East Street Cemetery, Petersham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, 207 Pleasant St. Marlborough, MA. 01752.
