Edward Arsenault Orange – Edward Arsenault, 80, of 40 Cottage Street died Monday, July 02, 2012 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare.      Edward was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, July 7, 1931, the son of Alyre and Jeanne (LeBlanc) Arsenault.   He grew up in Fitchburg where he attended Fitchburg schools and since 1986 has resided in Orange.  He worked for several paper mills, retiring from James River Paper Company in Fitchburg after 43 years.      Edward was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fitchburg, St. Joe’s Club and the Eastwood Club in Fitchburg.  He enjoyed playing pool and in years past played in several leagues and also enjoyed horseshoes.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his large family.        His wife of 46 years, Lorraine (LeBlanc) Arsenault died in 1997.  He leaves seven children; Rene Arsenault, Jeanne Vautour and her husband Paul, and Judy Melanson and her husband Kenneth, all of Orange, David Arsenault and his spouse Tim of Pembrook, NH, Joan Silva and her husband David of Orange, John Arsenault of Athol and Janet Turner and her husband Don of Dubaeh, LA; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy, Bertha, Lorraine and Jeannette.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 49 Woodland Avenue, Fitchburg at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 6, 2012 with burial will following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol.
