GREENLAND, NH - Edward A. Comeau, 92 of Greenland, NH, formerly of Leominster, MA died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH.
He was born in Leominster, on August 10, 1923, the son of the late Henry and the late Eva (Vaillette) Comeau.
Mr. Comeau served during WWII in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman. He was a Fire Fighter for the city of Leominster for 32 years retiring as a Lieutenant in 1983.
He was a member of the Leominster Fire Fighters Association Hose #4, and a member of the Union. He has lived in Greenland, NH with his son Kevin and family for the past 10 years. He enjoyed golfing, cribbage and the family dog, Scooby-Doo.
He leaves two sons: Kevin Comeau and his wife Katharine of Greenland, NH, Kent P. Comeau and his wife Sandy of Hampton, NH; one brother: Emile Comeau of Leominster; two grandchildren: twins James and Julia Comeau, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years: Mary C (Leahey) Comeau in 2001, his son Lance Comeau and by brothers: Alfonse, Robert, Leo, Homer and Phillip Comeau of Leominster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, MA.
