ATHOL – Edward M. Vigeant, 75, of Athol passed away Thursday, August 16, at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Edward was born in Worcester on December 23, 1942 to the late Edward W. Vigeant and the late Lucille (Lucier) Vigeant. He grew up in Worcester, graduating from Holy Name High School in 1960. He joined the Navy one month later and served during the Vietnam War – the second best choice of his life. He attended Mass Radio School and during that time he met Dolores and married her 2 years later in 1966 – and that was the best choice of his life.
He worked for Raytheon, Sprague Electric and owned his own business for electronic services – Texas Instruments calculator repair when calculators were new. He retired in 2001. Over the past few years he enjoyed posting spiritual information on Google.
He leaves his wife of 52 years: Dolores (Polewaczyk) Vigeant of Athol; two daughters: Michelle L. Norton of Athol and Iris S. Goodwin and her husband, Philip of Winchendon; one brother: Jeffrey Vigeant of VA; two sisters: Judith Riani of Worcester, Susan Jolicoeur of FL; one granddaughter: April Goodwin of Winchendon.
Funeral services will be private. Mack Family Funeral Homes – Higgins O’Connor Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
