Edward S. Zarozinski

Gardner-Edward S. Zarozinski, 89 of 35 Washington Street, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 in Heywood Hospital following an illness. He was born in Baldwinville on June 15, 1918 the son of Waldyslaw and Gladys (Zurawski) Zarozinski. He resided most of his life in Gardner. Mr. Zarozinski was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a Private and received the Victory Medal for his military service. He worked at the former Heywood-Wakefield Company as a plainer retiring many years ago and also worked at the former City Market as a meat cutter part-time. An avid bowler, he belonged to many leagues. He loved to fish, watch baseball, football and was a loyal Celtics fan. Mr. Zarozinski was a former member of the Gardner VFW Post #905 and the American Legion Post 129. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He and his wife of 66 years, Flora E. (Janssens) Zarozinski were married on November 29, 1941. He is survived by his wife, Flora of Gardner; a son, David E. Zarozinski of Amherst, and by a daughter, Cheryl A. Zarozinski of Gardner; 4 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Chester J. Zarozinski and Stanley Zarozinski and by two sisters, Olive Poliks and Jean Morris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross Street. Burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street.
