Marlboro – The Sisters of the Assumption mourn the loss of Sr. Eileen Pratt, formerly known as Sr. Marie-Adele who died at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlboro, MA on Sunday, March 25, 2018. She was born on April 29, 1931 in Lowell, MA, the fourth child of Alfred and Clara (Descheneaux) Pratt.
Sr. Eileen joined the Sisters of the Assumption on August 21, 1949. She taught in Salem, MA for five years. She then volunteered to serve in Brazil and Ecuador where she served for 28 years. While in South America, she studied and taught the Montessori Method to young children. She also served as the director of formation for her Congregation and performed varied missionary works. Sr. Eileen was a well-known, loved and dedicated missionary who was beloved by all.
Sr. Eileen is survived by her sister Doris, several nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of the Assumption worldwide. Her two brothers, Robert and George predeceased her.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 2 from 9:30 to 10:15am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30am in the chapel of the Sisters of St. Anne, 720 Boston Post Road East, Marlboro, MA. Sr. Eileen will be laid to rest in East Street Cemetery, Petersham, MA
