Elaine A. (Elliott) Butkus

PHILLIPSTON - Elaine A. (Elliott) Butkus, retired Head Start Teacher, age 76 of Phillipston, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Wayne and the late Helen (Fohy) Elliott. Elaine grew up and attended schools in Petersham, graduating from Petersham High School in 1957. She worked for M.O.C. Child Care and Head Start Services as a teacher for over thirty years. She is preceded in death by her husband Tony Butkus, brother Robert Elliott and sister Frances O’Brien. She is survived by her three children: Lee Bennett Jr. and wife Alaine; Susan Langley; Anthony Bennett and wife Nanette; siblings: Wayne Elliott, Carolyn May, Daniel Elliott, and David Elliott; grandchildren: Lee III, Pam, Christopher, and Mark. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and her close friend Carla Rodenizer. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at East Street Cemetery, Petersham. Fellowship will follow in the Petersham Town Hall. No calling hours are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Elaine’s memory to M.O.C. Head Start, 133 Prichard St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Thank you.
