GARDNER - Eleanor M. (Lawson) Horrigan 86, of Gardner died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
She was born on June 28, 1929 in Ashburnham the daughter of Victor Lawson and Marion (Flanagan) Lawson.
Eleanor grew up in Ashburnham and moved to Gardner when she married George T. Horrigan in 1951.
She worked as a clerk for Goodnow Pearsons and Richs Department stores.
She enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, Nova Scotia as well as Prince Edward Island. She took a cruise to Bermuda.
She enjoyed making doll houses. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and a member of the Templeton Women's Club.
She leaves a son, David P. Horrigan of Shirley; one daughter, Deborah M. Way of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother, Clifford Lawson of Nashua, New Hampshire; one sister, Kathy Lambrides of Lebanon, Tennessee; one grandson, Bradley Horrigan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, George T. Horrigan who died in 2009 and by a sister, Betty Brown.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2 PM in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glen Allen St., Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 105, Northfield, IL 60093.
