Eleanor F. Spofford

GARDNER - Eleanor F. (Parmenter) Spofford, 89, of 19 City Hall Ave, Gardner, died Friday, September 25, 2009 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner after a long illness. She was born in Shirley on July 10, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank and the late Eleanor (Piper) Parmenter. Mrs. Spofford was raised and educated in Shirley, Massachusetts. She worked as an LPN for the Gardner State Hospital for fifteen years. She was later employed by the Eastwood Pines Nursing Home for five years until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Golden Ager's and AARP. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and playing nintendo. She leaves her husband and companion of fifty years, Roy D. Spofford of Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial in St. John Cemetery in Gardner will be private. There are no calling hours. $(document).ready(function(){ });
