LEOMINSTER - Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Cormier)Gallant, 95 of 495 Pleasant St., Leominster, died Saturday, April 14, 2007 in the Leominster Hospital, Leominster.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on May 30, 1911, the daughter of the late Hugh and the late Obeline (Cormier) Cormier.
She was employed at Lockwood Plastics in Leominster for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Cecilia´s Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, hiking and traveling. She espically enjoyed spending time with her loving family.
She leaves two daughters, Lee Anne Gallant of Leominster, Gail Gallant of Leominster and one son, Harley Gallant and his wife Jane of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Adeline Caisse of New Brunswick, Canada, Dora Babineau of New Brunswick, Canada and one brother, Benoit Cormier of New Brunswick, Canada; three grandchildren, Maddison, Jamison and Harrison; and a special niece, Pauline Babineau of Leominster along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband W. Amos Gallant who died in 1989; by three brothers, Aurele Cormier, Abbe Cormier and Melaf Cormier and by two sisters, Anna Kohler, and Juliette Babineau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia´s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia´s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to the Restoration Fund of St. Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic St., or to the Health Alliance - Leominster Hopsital 100 Hospital Drive both in Leominster, MA 01453.
