GARDNER - Elizabeth E. (O’Donnell) Goguen, 99, of Gardner died Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
Mrs. Goguen was born June 13, 1917 in Gardner the daughter of the late Edward and the late Alice (Flood) O'Donnell. She grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1935.
Elizabeth was the secretary for the former Monadnock Boy Scouts Troop for many years. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She was a member of the former Catholic Women’s Club for many years. She was a member of the Chair City Pipers for many years.
She is survived by a niece, Faith A. Monahan and her husband Richard of Waltham.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis C. Goguen in 2005; by two sisters, Alice E. O’Donnell in 1982, Kathryn L. O’Donnell in 1985; by two brothers, Paul T. O’Donnell in 1992, Edward A. O’Donnell, Jr. in 2005; and by a nephew, Steven E. O’Donnell in 1996.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, Ocotober 1, 2016 from 9 – 10 a.m. in the Lamoureux-Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home 105 Central St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Baldwinville Nursing Home – Activity Fund 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
