Elizabeth M. Nault

ATHOL - Elizabeth M. (Canuel) Nault, 84, of 262 Partridgeville Rd., Athol, died Friday, October 2, 2009 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol. She was born in the former town of North Dana, MA, on July 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Viola (Smith) Canuel. Mrs. Nault was raised and educated in North Dana, and was a resident of Athol for over 65 years. She worked at the former Union Twist Drill many years ago, and was employed by the former McElwain's Shoe Shop in Athol for ten years. Mrs. Nault became certified from the Quabbin Valley Healthcare to provide home health care to patients. She was a private duty home health aid for five years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Athol VFW and enjoyed crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. She leaves two daughters, Rose Senecal of Orange, Mary Olsen and her husband Paul of Monson; one son, Leo J. Nault, Jr. and his wife Donna of Athol; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of over fifty years, Leo J. Nault, Sr. on May 7, 2002; also by her two daughters, Elaine Davis on June 3, 1998, Betty Ann Batutis; by her brother, Louis Canuel; by two sisters, Dorothy Woodard, Annette LaBrecque; and by her former husband, Edward Yetter. A memorial service will be held a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331 or to the Quabbin Valley Healthcare - Activity Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331. $(document).ready(function(){ });
