ATHOL - Elizabeth T. Scully died peacefully at home on October 1st. She was 91. Born in New Jersey, she had made Massachusetts her home since 1970.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and worked for many years as a social worker. She served as the Wendell Town Clerk in the 90s and volunteered with the Wendell and Athol Council on Aging.
She is survived by her three children, Claudia Scully of Wendell; Kesiah Scully and her husband David Seres of New York City; Edward Scully and his wife Kathleen Corrigan of Kingston, NH; and her three grandchildren Abraham, Rahel, and Juan Scully. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Mass to honor her memory will be held on October 29th at noon at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol. In her memory, donations may be made to the Athol Public Library or to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Greenfield, MA 01301.
Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol, is directing arrangements.
