LEOMINSTER - Elizabeth (DuPuis) Viens, 103 of 370 West St., Leominster, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 in the Lifecare Of Leominster, Leominster.
She was born in Gardner, on December 16, 1906, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Josephine (Melanson) DuPuis.
She worked at the former Foster Grant Company in Leominster for many years until retirement. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church, and a member of the Franco American War Veteran's Post No. 13.
She leaves one son: Gerald Viens and his partner Albert Cicoria of Dorchester; daughter in-law, Irene Viens of Leominster; son-in-law, Francis Bryce of Leominster; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years: Harry T. Viens who died September 10, 1993; one son: Charles "Tommy" Viens who died in 1980; and one daughter Janet Bryce who died in 1991.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St, Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Cecilia's Church Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453
