Ellen (Osterberg) Mason

GARDNER- Ellen (Osterberg) Mason, 71, of Gardner, died Saturday, August 8, at Heywood Hospital after a brief illness. Ellen was born December 27, 1948, in Gardner, daughter of the late Walter and the late Rosella (Lukasevicius) and lived in Gardner all her life. She graduated from Gardner High School. Ellen loved playing cards, playing cribbage at the Gardner Senior Center and bingo at the Wakefield Place where she was often the caller. She also enjoyed going to the casino and Cape Cod. Ellen will be remembered as a caregiver. She took amazing care of her mother when she was ill. The care giving spirit was shown to her family and friends. She was always willing to help in any way she could. She leaves her brother, Larry Osterberg and his wife, Rose of Gardner; three sisters, Carol Wife of the late Kenneth Graves of Westminster, Ann Osterberg of Gardner and Elizabeth Shepard and her husband, Guy of Georgetown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 13, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Senior Center, 294 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA 01440, the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Rd. #200, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the charity of one’s choice.
