LEOMINSTER: Elva R. (Witham) Minor, 91, formally of 100 Main St.Leominster died August 9,2008 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster after an illness.
She was born February 8,1917 in Marshfield Vermont, the daughter of the late Ralph E. Witham and Hattie (Shuttle) Witham and came to Leominster Many years ago.
She leaves four sons: Clarence H.Minor of Townsend, Walter P. Minor of Gardner, Lester A. Minor of Alabama and Carl B. Minor of Bloomington Indiana; five daughters: Phyllis Yeaton of Leominster, Elsie M. Chandler of Sutherlin Oregon, Lucy E. Henry of Decator Georgia, Lilly Ripperger of Shannon City Iowa and Paula R. Marcoux of Leominster; one bother: Philip Witham of South Carolina; thirty-seven grandchildren; sixty-five great-grandchildren; three greatgreat grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Her husband of 41 years, Levi Minor died in 1976. Three brothers: Stanley, George and Kenneth Witham and four sisters: Norma Amsden, Lucy Grey, Thelma Chamberlin and Helen Pero predeceased her.
Mrs. Minor was a member of First Baptist Church in Leominster.
She was employed at the former Sportsmens Plastic Co. and Paragon Plastics until retiring many years ago.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23,2008 at 10am in the Hawes Chapel on the grounds of Evergreen Cemetery Leominster. Mrs Mino'rs grandson, Pastor Christopher Minor will officiate. Burial will be private.
Calling hours in the Hawes Chapel will be held on Saturday, August 23,2008 from 9:15 a.m. -9:45 a.m.
