ATHOL - Emily (Kubelinas) Deleo, 99, formerly of Harugari Street, Athol, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Emily was born in Athol on December 12, 1911, the daughter of the late Ignatius and the late Veronica (Gedraitis) Kubelinas. She had lived in Athol all of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Deleo was a member of the Athol Hospital Auxiliary, the Catholic Women's League, and Our Lady Immaculate Church. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time.
She leaves her daughter, Cynthia E. Roach of Orange; one sister, Valerie Brazell of Dudley; three grandchildren, Steven Roach and his significant other Darla Breault of Orange, Timothy Roach and his wife Eleanor of Florida, Scott Roach and his wife Claudia of Ware; and five great grandchildren, Holly, Mikaela, Leah, Andrew and Bethany Roach.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, James W. Deleo, in 1986, and by a grandson, Michael Roach, in 1998.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Those attending the Mass are requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Quabbin Valley Healthcare Patient Activities Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331.
