Emily (Bagley) Rougeau, 97, 30-year widow of Rene Rougeau, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Leominster Rehabilitation Center, Leominster.
A lifelong city resident, Emily attended Leominster High School and earned her GED in her 50s. She worked at Cluets as a young woman and at W.T. Grants when her children were first in school. She was a regional manager for Coppercraft Guild in the 60s and 70s and retired from Sears.
She was an avid quilter, making more than 200 quilts and quilt tops during a 30+ year span. In addition to her parents, Earl and Iona (Sauvageau) Bagley, Emily was predeceased by her siblings Milton Bagley, Jean Tessier and Judith DesRoche.
She is survived by her daughters Nancy Hooper and her husband Robert of Newington, Connecticut, and their children, Rebecca Hooper and her life partner Peter Yohe and Lisa Hooper and her husband Manuel Arteaga and their son Ignacio; also by Kathy Rougeau-Rogers and her husband Ron of Worland WY, her son Lucas Richardson and his wife JoAnn and their daughter Jade; and by two sisters-in-law, Joyce Rougeau and Bertha LaBarre, and many nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
A graveside service will follow immediately at St. Cecelia’s Cemetery, Leominster.
