Fitchburg – Emily I. (Hillman) Ruckey of Fitchburg, passed way peacefully September 19, 2017 at LifeCare Center, 350 West St., Leominster, MA.
Emily was born in Gardner on September 28, 1920 to the late James Hillman and the late Adella (Erickson) Hillman. She married her husband James Ruckey on September 10, 1938, who passed away April 11, 2005.
She retired from Eastwood Pines Nursing Home where she was a dietary aide for 12 years.
She enjoyed ten pin bowling and was a member of the Chair City Ladies League. She also bowled in a couples leagues at both the Gardner Ten Pin Lanes and Winchendon Playaway Lanes.
She leave one daughter: Phyllis Winter and her husband Roland of Fitchburg; three sons: Robert Ruckey and his wife Bertha, James Ruckey Jr. and his partner Susan, all of FL, Thomas Ruckey and his wife Linda of Westminster; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Hillman of Dotham, AL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church,161 Chestnut St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Monday, September 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Funeral Home – A Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, MA.
