GARDNER - Esper "Gee" Gullatt, 76 of 122 Temple Street, Gardner, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at home. He was born in Robson, Georgia, on September 18, 1934, the son of the late Jordan and the late Rosella (Smith) Gullatt. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1982. He received the following decorations, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (Korea), United Nations Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. Gee was employed as a truck driver and worked for several local construction companies. He was well known as a sports official for football, baseball, softball, track and basketball. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and he enjoyed playing cards. He leaves his wife of 34 years, Robin (Vieweg) Gullatt; three daughters, Yvette Williams of Marietta, GA, Gweno Clemons of Grand Prairie, TX, Rachel Gullatt of Gardner; two sons, Esper Gullatt, Jr. of Aurora, CO, Clayton Gullatt of Gardner; three sisters, Rosella Barnet of Cleveland, Irene Sneed, Ethel Tillery all of Cleveland, OH; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services with full military honors will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Health Alliance Hospice, 25 Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453 or to Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center Inc., 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440, or to a charity of one's choice.
