Eva M. Bartlett, a resilient soul whose heart was a beacon of generosity and love, passed away peacefully on the 14th of August, 2023. Born on the 22nd of November, 1930, in East Deerfield, Massachusetts, Eva spent her life imbuing every moment with kindness, support, and an unwavering sense of purpose. Her spirit was a testament to the verse from the Book of Proverbs: "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
Eva lived most of her life in Athol, MA. She married her beloved husband, Gerald Bartlett, on the 4th of March, 1950, and together, they owned and operated Bartlett Service Station. Eva also built a successful career at the L.S. Starrett Company, where she worked in the Indicator Department for 42 years, retiring as the department supervisor in 1996. Her dedicated work ethic and supportive nature were reflected in her professional accomplishments, and she brought the same level of commitment to her hobbies, enjoying her flower gardens, feeding the hummingbirds, and playing the organ with her husband as he played the piano. Eva moved to Raymond, NH, in 2022, to live with her nephew Skip and wife Barb. She attended Epping Bible Church with them, where she was well loved.
Loving and supporting her family and those who cared for her was Eva's life mission. She was a steadfast rock, stoic in life's ups and downs, and shouldered responsibilities without complaint. Her loving, generous spirit made her a joy to be around, and she was always grateful for each day she was given on this earth.
Along with her family, Barb, Skip and Cherie, who cared for her needs this past year; Eva loved, and was loved by, Tracy Young, Hannah Boulter and Sandra Poole who shared in her care.
Eva is survived by her nephew, Owen "Skip" (Barbara) Gagnon, and nieces, Cheryl (Michael) Steele, Wanda (Jeremiah "Buddy") Clifford, Sheila Lapane (Robert), and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Gagnon; brothers Harold, Owen, Robert, and Arthur Jr.; and her loving husband, Gerald Bartlett.
We invite all who knew and loved Eva to leave memories and upload photos of her on the memorial page. Each memory shared will serve as a testament to the wonderful life she led and the indelible impact she left on those around her. Eva Bartlett's legacy of resilience, generosity, and love will live on in our hearts forever.
