Evelyn A. Begor

ATHOL - Evelyn A. Begor, 79 of Athol died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 4, 1928 in Berlin, N.H. she was the daughter of Alfred and Diana (Pinet) Frenette. She lived most of her life in Athol, retiring from Athol Memorial Hospital in 1993. Evelyn was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo at the Athol Senior Center, many trips to Florida and vacations with her son. Evelyn was also an avid walker prior to her illness. As a former president of the Athol Golden Agers, she brought the club to record membership in its 50th year of existence. She was a member of the local Red Hat Society, "Scarlett O'Hatters" along with her daughter and granddaughters. She leaves a daughter, Linda Lefebre of Athol and a son, James Begor of Oviedo, Florida, granddaughters, Julie LeBoeuf of Athol, Jill Neale and husband Todd of Royalston, great grandchildren Curtis Neale, Sam LeBoeuf and Annie LeBoeuf. She also leaves a brother, Leo Frenette of Leominster, sisters, Lena Blanchard, Irene Roussel and husband Romeo, Rita Parenteau, all of Athol, many nieces and nephews; and a step-son, Richard Begor, Jr. his wife Ellie and their family of Athol. Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Lefebre in 1953, a son Robert S. Lefebre in 1966, second husband Richard Begor, Sr. in 1974 and brother Raymond Frenette in 1996. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home 1356 Main St., Athol.
