Everett W. Mills, 84, of Leominster,died Friday, January 2, 2009, in Health-Alliance Leominster Hospital, after an illness. He was born in Leominster MA, the son of the late Everett W. Mills and Mary (Coleman) Mills. Mr. Mills grew up in Leominster,and attended Worcester Trade School. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Quincy and survived the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal.He was employed at E. T. Duval and Son Company for (45)Years retiring in 1989.He was a member of the Leominster Sportsmans Club, and St Leo's Church.He was a devoted husband, father,grandfather,and great-grandfather. He leaves three daughters, Kathleen Mills of Leominster,Anne Andrews and her husband,Martin of Leominster,and Christine DeLisle of Leominster;three grandchildren, Darcie Hause of Leominster, Darlene Siegle of Leominster and Michael DeLisle of Boston;two great-grandchildren,Olivia Hause and Chase Hause. He was predeceased by his beloved wife,Elaine(Poirier)Mills,and his son,Dennis Mills, and a sister, Martha Grady. The funeral will be held on Wednesday,January 7,2009 from Simard Funeral Home,14 Walker St. Leominster with a 10 a.m.,Mass of Christian Burial in St Leo's Church,128 Main St.,Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in St Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday evening January 6,2009 are from 6 p.m.8 p.m. In lieu of flowers,donations in his memory can be made to Veterans Memorial Carter Park in care of Richard Voutor, 25 West St., Leominster, MA 01453 and may be left at the funeral home.
