ATHOL - Flora J. (Butterworth) Duguay, 96 of Athol, died Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, MA.
She was born in Athol, on April 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Spencer G. and the late Julia H. (Tedford) Butterworth.
She grew up and lived in the Athol area all of her life, graduating (pro merito) from Athol High School in 1941. Flora worked at the former New England Telephone & Telegraph and the L. S. Starrett Company in the sales department.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church, very family oriented and in her younger years hosted many holiday family gatherings. She especially liked shopping for the grandchildren and family, playing games of chance, knitting, crocheting, and vacationing in Maine at the different beaches.
She leaves four sons: William S. Duguay of Athol, Leo Duguay of Orange, Felix Duguay of Athol, Kurt P. Duguay and his companion Danette Drew of VA; one sister: Shirley Anderson of West Royalston; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two step-children; six step-grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; three sister-in-laws: Rita Rivers; Noella Boutelle; Arline Duguay; one brother-in-law, Norman Duguay and his wife Dawn of Orange.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years: William J. Duguay in 2006; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Duguay; her brother: Thomas G. Butterworth; her brother-in-law: Virgil J. Duguay and two sisters-in-law: Crystal Butterworth, Doris Duguay.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Lake Street, Athol.
A calling hour will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange.
