ATHOL-Flora B. (Worth) Evashousky, 83, of 85 Jones Street, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, following an illness. Her husband of 31 years, Charles Evashousky, died in 1969. She leaves her son, Charles J. Evashousky, with whom she lived, and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Orange, MA, October 9, 1918, and attended schools in Orange and Athol. She had lived in Athol most of her life.
Mrs. Evashousky along with her husband owned and operated the Charles Ersey Shoe Company, Inc. on Jones Street from 1959 to 1969, and then for three more years with her son Charles. She then worked at the L. S. Starrett Company, retiring in 1980. Previously, she worked at the former Ansin Shoe Company and Cal-Ray Shoe Company. She enjoyed sewing and making Barbie doll clothes, and she traveled extensively with her son to Europe, Asia, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main Street. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Calling hours in the funeral home are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
