RICHMOND, NH- Florence P. (Tuttle) "Patty" Webber, of 37 Fitzwilliam Road, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 in Westwood Healthcare Center, Keene, NH, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 4, 1942 in Athol, MA, daughter of Lenwood and Barbara (McLean) Tuttle. Her father was killed in World War II, and her mother remarried Louis "Bud" Noel, who raised her.
After graduation from Athol High School in 1960, she earned her Bachelors Degree from Fitchburg State College in 1964. She taught elementary school in Orange, MA, and Hartford, Connecticut, and then returned to Athol, where she taught for 30 years at Sanders Street School and Pleasant Street school. She retired in 1998.
After her marriage in 1972 to C. Richard Webber, she moved to Richmond, NH, and commuted daily to Athol. Her summers were always centered at the beach. For the past 25 years, this has been Seaside Village in North Hampton, NH.
She attended Camp Wiyaka as a girl, served as the assistant director while in college, and later was on the board of directors of the camp. She has sserved as vice-president of the Camp Wiyaka Alumni Association since its founding.
She was a member of the Athol Teachers Association, and worked for years on the annual book sale. She also belonged to the Athol Women's Club and the Athol Memorial Hospital Auxilliary.
She was an active parishioner at Saint John's Episcopal church in Athol most of her life, moving in recent years to Saint James Church in Keene, NH. She served as Church School teacher, choir member and on the Altar Guild.
For over 20 years, she volunteered with the Richmond Rescue Squad as an Emergency Medical Technician, and served as Captain for 7 years. She also served the town for many years on the Beach and Recreation Committees.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Maggie Webber and her fiance, Rob Goetting, both of Suncook, New Hampshire.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. in St. John Episcopal Church, Park Ave, Athol, with the Rev. A. Milton Cheney, III, rector, officiating. Private burial will be held in Old South Cemetery, Richmond, NH, in the Spring.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Athol.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to either the Richmond Rescue Squad, 17 Winchester Road, Richmond, NH 03470, or to St. John's Episcopal Church, 15 Park Ave., Athol, 01331.
