Gardner- Frances Grucan, 83, of Gardner, died Wednesday, July 24, at Heywood Hospital, after an illness.
Frances was born May 26, 1936, in Gardner, daughter of the late John and the late Rose (Dlugakenska) Grucan. She graduated from Templeton High School in 1954 and attended Stevens Business School in Fitchburg. For over 28 years, she worked as secretary for Narragansett Regional School District. Frances was a woman of great faith and loved her Church, St. Vincent de Paul. She was very active as the Parish secretary, a Eucharistic Minister, the choir, Parish Council, and fair committees at St. Vincent de Paul Church. She also participated in Communion services at Baldwinville Nursing Home.
Frances leaves her twin sister, Florence Stone of Athol; two brothers, Stanley Grucan of Gardner and Raymond Grucan of Baldwinville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Paul Grucan, Peter Grucan, John Grucan Jr., Helen Trinque, Anna Bibeau, Chester Poploski, and Jeannette Arsenault.
The funeral Mass will be Monday July 29, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 18 Pleasant St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Those who wish to attend should go directly to Church.
