ATHOL - Frances M. (Ryder) Losius, 84 of 62 C Street, Athol, died Friday, October 20, 2006, in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. She was born in Brattleboro, VT, on October 4, 1922, the daughter of the late Floyd and the late Iva (Johnson) Ryder. She graduated from Orange High School. Mrs. Losius was employed at the former Orange Enterprise and Journal as a secretary for many years and retired from the former Chase Machine Company in Orange where she worked for over 25 years as a secretary. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and she enjoyed golf, gardening and her family. She leaves two sons, David B. Losius of Northfield, Peter L. Losius of Athol; one sister, Eleanor Cetto of Athol; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Losius of Charlotte, NC, Shawn Losius and Robyn Losius both of Northfield; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Vito L. Losius who died in January of this year and by a brother, Floyd Ryder, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at 10:00 am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol, MA.
