PETERSHAM - Frances E. (Elliott) O'Brien, 73, of 228 Popple Camp Road, Petersham, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Worcester. She was born in Fitchburg on August 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Wayne E. and the late Helen (Fohy) Elliott. Mrs. O'Brien was a member of St. Peter's Church in Petersham, AARP and the Quabbin Snowman's Club. She worked as a secretary to the Director of Harvard Forest, a branch of Harvard University. She was also a bus driver for E.H. Merrifield and MOC Head Start many years ago. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and golfing. She leaves one daughter, Kathleen A. Wise of Worcester; four sons, Russell G. O'Brien, Jr. of Petersham, Thomas C. O'Brien and his wife Paige of Richmond, KY, Patrick James O'Brien and his wife Susan of Petersham, Sean E. O'Brien of Greenfield; two sisters, Elaine Butkus of Phillipston, Carolyn May of Petersham; three brothers, Wayne Elliott of Templeton, Daniel Elliott of Petersham, David Elliott of KY; ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-seven years, Russell G. O'Brien, on December 21, 2007; and by her brother, Robert Elliott. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial will follow in East Street Cemetery. Petersham. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Diabetes Foundation, 13 Sunflower Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652. $(document).ready(function(){ });
