Francese S. (Wilkey) Hodgson

January 23, 1924 — January 4, 2013

ATHOL - Francese S. (Wilkey) Hodgson, 88 of Athol, went to join the love of her life on Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. She was born in Orange, on January 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Francis S. and the late Lillian E. (Bruffee) Wilkey. She married George Hodgson on April 30, 1965 and enjoyed 42 years together.  She worked for the former Union Twist Drill in Athol.  She was a member of the Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, the Golden Ages Club and the Rebecca Banner Lodge part of the Grange.  She volunteered for meals on wheels, was the cook at Camp Wayaka with her husband for many years, as well as cooking and baking bread for the monthly suppers held at the Starrett Memorial Church and made cakes.  She enjoyed cooking meals and making homemade breads and pies for the homebound during the holidays.   She loved her pigs and made the best lemon meringue pie. She leaves her best friend and niece: Lorelei Currier of Athol, a niece, Donna Guyer of Athol; and many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews and many dear friends.
