Leominster- Francis E. Cote, 87 of 190 9th Street, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at the Life Center in Leominster following an illness,
Mr. Cote was born in Leominster on November 11, 1919 the son of the late Israel and Mitilda (Ducharme) Cote.
Mr. Cote served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class. He worked as a foreman for 42 years at the former Tilton and Cook Company of Leominster retiring in 1984. He worked the 2 years at the Civilian Conservation Corporation in Warren, NH. He was a member of the American Legion Post #151 of Leominster, the Leominster Police Auxiliary, the Leominster Senior Center and Golden Agers. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Claire D. (Comeau) Cote of Leominster; three sons, Kenneth Cote of Leominster, Ronald Cote of Brookfield, and Dean Cote of Mason, NH; a brother, Norman Cote of Templeton, two sisters, Rita Brouillet and Evelyn Consalvo both of Leominster; 3 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons, 8 great-granddaughters, and 2 great-great granddaughters.
He was predeceased by a son, Carl Cote who died in 1994 and by two sisters, Edna Gardner of Warwick and Irene Hurtubise of Leominster.
Military funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 with a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 7, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
