Frank Thomas Norton

ATHOL – Frank T. Norton, Sr. of Athol passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner after a long illness. He was born November 23, 1934 in Ayer. Frank lived in Groton and attended Groton schools. Frank worked with his father for many years as a carpenter and built several houses in the Groton area. He was employed at the Hartnett Tannery in Ayer, the Groton Leatherboard of West Groton, and Asher Pants Company of Fitchburg during his working career. Mr. Norton resided in Lunenburg for 40 years before moving to Athol in 1995. He liked gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Orange Sportsman’s Club. Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, one son, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He is predeceased by one daughter. Services will be private.
