Frank P. Watkevich

ATHOL - Frank P. Watkevich, 89 of 306 Cottage Street, Athol, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol. He was born in Athol, on December 3, 1922, the son of the late Charles and the late Annie (Gatautis) Watkevich. Frank grew up in Athol and was educated in Athol.  He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.   He was employed at the Union Twist Drill Company as a Foreman for many years.  He went on to work in Springfield for several years until his retirement.   He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Lithuanian Club.  He enjoyed going to York Beach, Maine, going to yard sales, mushrooming and constructing walls. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Eloise M. (Battersby) Watkevich; two daughters, Kathy Anderson and her husband Bruce of Unity, ME, Lori Wehmeyer of Athol; two sons, Paul Watkevich and his wife Brenda of Culpeper, VA; Joseph Watkevich of Mt. Olive, NC; a brother, Stanley Watkevich of Athol; a sister Alice Knappe of Athol; seven grandchildren, Michael Anderson of Unity, ME, Henry Anderson of Cornish, ME, Mary Anderson of Unity, ME, Billy Wehmeyer of Athol, Andrew Wehmeyer of Athol, Eric Watkevich of Culpeper, VA, Emily Watkevich of Culpeper, VA; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Wehmeyer, Carly Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
