Frederick B Doucette

Frederick B. Doucette passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home, on the morning of December 23rd, 2022. He was 88 years old. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ellie Doucette, and their 3 children, son Michael Doucette of Lunenburg, MA, daughter Deborah Brachel and husband Robert of Lunenburg, MA, and Daughter Sue Cullinane and husband Mike of Rindge, NH.

Fred was known as “Gramps” by his grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Nicole, Bryan (predeceased), and Tyler. He was known as “Great Grampy” by his great-grandchildren Logan, Olivia, Emily, Connor, Brantley, and Brooks. He was also close with several nieces and nephews.  

Fred served 4 years in the Navy and then went on to work at Decotone, followed by Digital/HP. He enjoyed bird watching, traveling, photography, his dog Brutus, walks along the ocean, a good lobster dinner, and, above all else, cherished his wife and family. Fred was a friend to neighbors and strangers alike, always lending a helping hand or striking up pleasant conversation wherever he went. As someone who truly appreciated the simplest pleasures in life, he often used the phrase: “Keep on keepin’ on.” He was a constant, reassuring presence and reminder of what it looks like to live a full and grateful life. 

Until they meet again, Fred’s family will remember him with great joy and carry him in their hearts as they “keep on keepin’ on.”

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA.

Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
