Fukuyo Mary Richard

TEMPLETON - Fukuyo Mary (Ishii) Richard, 92 of Templeton formerly of Gardner, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the Sterling Healthcare, Sterling, MA. She was born in Kanagawa Ken, Japan on April 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Chotaro Ishii and the late Kiyo (Ishikawa) Ishii. Fukuyo grew up and graduated from high school in Japan. She moved to China Lake, California with her husband Joseph "Phil" Richard and their son Bob in 1957. Her family relocated to Gardner in 1959 where she lived until recently moving to Templeton. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, she enjoyed sewing and made wedding dresses for all her daughters, she did Japanese needlepoint and enjoyed all crafts. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She leaves four daughters, Debra Vogel and her husband Mike of Winchendon; Michelle Wirzbicki and her husband Mark of Gardner, Maxine Horrigan and her husband Tim of Gardner, Lisa Lajoie and her husband Jeff of Fitzwilliam, NH; two sons, Bobby Richard and his wife Linda of Phillipston, Billy Richard and his wife Diana of Nashua, NH; one sister, Tsuru Sugiura of Japan; a sister in law, Jeannette LaRoche of Gardner/Sterling, eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joseph H.F. "Phil" Richard and by a grandson, Corey Heater. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:30 am in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner and Funeral. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts’ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the funeral home.
