George J. Duguay

ATHOL - George J. Duguay, 94 of 50 Wendell St., Athol, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at home. He was born in Athol, on September 12, 1913, the son of the late Ulric and the late Sara (Cormier) Duguay. He was employed by L.S. Starrett Tool Co. in the micrometer room, retiring after 33 years in 1975. He loved ocean fishing at his cottage in Camp Ellis, Saco, Maine. He lived in New Brunswick for several years. He held a private pilots license and was a member of the Athol/Orange Aero Club. George was a lifetime member of the Franco American Club and a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church. He leaves his wife of nearly 70 years, Doris L. (Lewis) Duguay; his two daughters, Wanda Duguay of Athol, Sandra Loretan of Orange; one son, Ulric Duguay of Orange; three sisters, Rita Rivers, Noella Boutelle, and Bertha Alliot all of Athol; three brothers, Norman Duguay Albert Duguay, Virgil Duguay all of Athol; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William Duguay and his two sisters, Rena Duguay and Bella Goupil. A graveside service will be held at Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Lake Street, Athol. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Diversified Visiting Nurses Association, 25 Tucker St., Leominster, MA 01453.
