George W. Henry

LEOMINSTER - George W. Henry, 78, of Leominster, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 after a brief struggle with cancer. He was born in Lorman, Mississippi, on February 15, 1931, the son of the late Littleton and Indiana Henry. Mr. Henry served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he resided in Leominster and was a police officer for the City of Leominster for twenty years. Mr. Henry retired on July 16, 1995, and moved to Mississippi where he owned and operated his own farm. He leaves two daughters, Darlene Gaudet and her husband Brian of Leominster, Georgene Ferrie of Tennessee; two sisters, Sarah Johnson, Clara Clinton, both of St. Louis, Missouri. He was predeceased by five brothers, Robert Henry, Joe Lewis Henry, John Henry, Hilbert Henry, Roosevelt Henry and his sister, Dolly Henry. Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Leominster Firefighters Relief Association, 19 Church Street, Leominster, MA 01453-3193, or to Leominster Police Department, 29 Church Street, Leominster, MA 01453-3101. $(document).ready(function(){ });
