ATHOL - George A. Jolly, Sr., 68 of 432 Conant Road, Athol, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Winchendon, on December 4, 1946, the son of the late Louis A. and the late Rosebelle M. (Gravel) Jolly, Sr.
He grew up in Royalston on the Jolly Farm and was 1 of 16 children. He was a diesel mechanic and was employed by Seat Bus Company in Connecticut for several years.
He was a member of the Lithuanian Club and the Franco-American Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed building cars, spending time with his family, fishing, boating and listening to country music.
He leaves and his former wife and mother of his children: Gloria Pace of Athol; five children, George A. Jolly, Jr. of Arizona, Cindy L. Plumley of Athol, Lori A. Jolly of Athol, Christine M. Jolly of New Hampshire, Teresa L. Jolly of New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, Ronald Furr, Amanda Jolly, Sarah Jolly, Kyle Jolly all of Connecticut, Scott Plumley, Jr. of Florida, Joshua Plumley of Athol, Gloria Jolly of Athol, Lawrence Kniskern of New Hampshire, Moniqua Jolly of New Hampshire, Shane Furtado, Nickolas Dahl, Nikita Ball, Lisa Johnson all of New Mexico; 13 great grandchildren; Dillin Plumley, Evan Young, Mckenna Ball, Annabelle Jolly, Zachary Young, Alivia Knight, Gavin Ball, Lexi Kniskern, Blake Ball, Mia Jolly, Hunter Tedford, Andrew Dahl and Tatum Ball; his girlfriend of 5 years, Julie Bassette; six sisters, Janet Rathburn of Florida, Laura Parker of Manchester, NH, Carol Oliver of Taunton, MA, Rosemary Rathburn of Athol, Deborah Barcomb, NY, Cindy Arnold Milford, NH; six brothers, Louis Jolly, Jr. of Connecticut, Bernard Jolly of Athol, James Jolly of Athol, Henry Jolly of Maine, David Jolly of Manchester, NH, Francis Joseph Jolly of Maine; .
He was predeceased by his step-father, Elden Wille Haney, by two sisters, Susan Bragdon, Elizabeth Ennis and by one brother, Ronald Jolly.
Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial private at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
