Georgina Marie Hachey Daigle, of Leominster, 92 years of age, when she slipped peacefully away on November 5, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 20, 1923, in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Francois Hachey and Emma (Gould) Hachey. She grew up in Canada and later moved to Leominster, with her husband and daughters. She became a citizen in 1961. She lived in the French Hill area before moving in with her daughter.
Her beloved family includes her late husband Simon Daigle of 48 years who passed in 1987. Her surviving family includes her sisters Julia Mazzerole of Gardner and Isabelle Wilby of Canada. In addition she leaves her daughter & caretaker, Clara Bilodeau and her husband, Stephen, with whom she lived with, her daughters Yvonne Smith and (late husband, Michael), Doris Warchol (and late husband, Edward), Albertine Roucheleau and husband, Jack all of Leominster, Anne Cormier and husband, Robert of Florida. Her grandchildren are Leona (husband, Norman), Michael, Brenda (husband, Donald), Jacqueline (husband, Ronald), Simon (wife, Karen), Helen, Mary, Arthur (wife, Louise), Richard (wife, Brandi), Darlene (husband, Robert), Christine (husband, Donald), Laura (husband, Alex), Cindy (husband, Marc), Richard (wife, Krista), David, Stephenie (husband, James), and Paul (wife, Anna). Her Great Grandchildren are Trisha, Crystal, Cindy, Shawn, Melissa, Jennifer, Brent, Ryan, Candace, Shane, Courtney, Tyler, Taressa, Amy, Michelle, Ryan, Ross, Vincent, Holly, Rebecca, Noah, Jonathon, Anthony, Katrina, Cameron, Mya, Jordan, Alex, Kaylee, Hydea, Brooklyn, James, Marcas, Sophia. And her great great grandchildren are Ihsan, Nuha, Serenity, Makaylee, Hasan, Mia, Ameer, Cody, Laura, Peter, Sofia, Thomas, Alexis, Peyton, Jerzie. She has also been predeceased by her sister Cecile Maillet, Josephine Hachey, Anne Vienneau. Her brothers Aime Maillet, Marcelle Hachey, Cloris Hachey, Alyre Hachey, Leo Hachey, Edmond Hachey, and Maxim Hachey, her granddaughter Carolanne Berube, Great grandson Brian Labonte, and great great granddaughter Michelina Bollettieri.
She worked at Elana’s dress shop and Union products. She belonged to St. Cecilia’s church. She enjoyed going to casinos, an occasional scratch ticket, loved Chinese food or McDonald’s. She loved watching wheel of fortune. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and always wanted to be around the children.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 9, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster the burial will follow at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
