ATHOL - Gerald A Brousseau, age 76, of Athol died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.   Mr. Brousseau was born July 19, 1938 in Orange, the son of the late Arcade and the late Madeline (Desrosiers) Brousseau.        He grew up in Orange and graduated from Orange High School with the class of 1956.  He graduated from Fitchburg Vocational High School in 1960 with plumbing as his career focal point. In high school he worked for Batch's Red Rooster.  He served his plumbing apprentice under Botti Plumbing and Heating.   Mr. Brousseau owned and operated Brousseau Plumbing for over 43 years.  He served as Plumbing Inspector for surrounding area towns for many years.   He was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church, a member of the AERO club, a lifetime member of the Wheelerville Club, a member of the Franklin County Masters Plumbers Association.  He was a former member of Camp Cheneo and the Quabbin Snowmen. He enjoyed gardening, flying planes, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and going for Sunday drives with his wife.   He is survived by two daughters, Susan Strong of Athol, Pamela Brousseau of Orange; two sons, Andre Brousseau and his wife Chantal of Wells, Maine, Darien Brousseau of Athol;  five grandchildren;  Jacqueline Liukkonen of Athol, Joshua Liukkonen of Orange, Jason Strong of Royalston, Olivia Brousseau of Wells, Maine, Vivanne Brousseau of Wells, Maine. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Lynda A. (Noyes) Brousseau who died in 2008, by a grandson, Andrew Strong who died in 1995 and by a brother, Richard Brousseau. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made in his memory to Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
